7 New York City Itineraries Under $30
/This city ain't cheap, but a fantastic time out for not too much money can still be had if you hit the right places. Below you'll find a killer plan for every night of the week, each one just $30 or less per person.
Nitehawk Cinema
SUNDAY - BRUNCH AT NITEHAWK CINEMA (WILLIAMSBURG)
Part movie house, part bar and restaurant, Nitehawk Cinema's several small theaters double as dining rooms, with tiny tables occupying every other row of seats. During weekly brunch screenings, movie buffs can dine and drink while watching everything from cinematic masterpieces to cult classics. The concise brunch menu includes a choice of entree and drink (including alcoholic options) for $14.
Total Cost: $28 for a movie ticket and full brunch.

Hill & Dale
MONDAY - ALL NIGHT HAPPY HOUR AT HILL & DALE AND $10 PASTA AT OSTERIA MORINI (LES AND SOHO)
First, swing by Hill & Dale, a cavernous space with several seating options, where you can slurp $1 oysters and sip from a nice selection of specially priced drafts, wine and well cocktails.
Following a beverage and a round of bivalves, head over to Osteria Morini, a casual Italian restaurant from Michelin starred chef, Michael White. Monday is "Industry Night" at Osteria Morini, when every one of their outstanding pastas is just $10 a plate after 9:00pm. Also on the menu are several bottles of Lambrusco, served at $7 a glass or $28 a bottle.
Total Cost: $29 for a 1/2 dozen oysters and a drink at Hill & Dale, followed by pasta and a glass of Lambrusco at Osteria Morini.

Cafe Luluc
TUESDAY - MOULES FRITES AT CAFE LULUC AND A MOVIE AT COBBLE HILL CINEMAS (COBBLE HILL)
Cafe Luluc is a cozy French spot serving solid provisions at very reasonable prices. On Tuesday evenings, $9.95 will get you a sizable pot of meaty mussels and a side of crispy fries. For just $5 more, you can order a mojito, a Stella Artois or a serviceable and generously poured chardonnay.
After dinner, walk around the corner to Cobble Hill Cinemas, a throwback theater from before stadium seating and large reclining chairs. Age aside, the cinema is clean, the concessions are plentiful and the price is right, with adult tickets just $8.50 on Tuesdays and Thursdays (excluding special engagements, 3-D movies, holidays and the first two weeks of any Sony Pictures first run release).
Total Cost: $29 for dinner and a drink at Cafe Luluc, followed by admission and concession snack at Cobble Hill Cinemas.

Fanelli Cafe
WEDNESDAY - PUB FARE AT FANELLI AND FUNK 45's AT BOTANICA (SOHO)
A Soho landmark from long before the bouji boutiques of Prince Street threw open their doors, Fanelli Cafe screams "old New York." The historic building housing this long time pub dates back to 1847 and is a perfect spot for a solid saloon supper.
Your next stop is Botanica, a dependable dive for cheap drinks and good cheer. Since 1996, resident DJ Mr. Fine Wine has dug into his deep collection of 7" records, spinning sets of funk, soul and R&B every Wednesday at 10:00pm. While most Wednesday nights are laid back listening sessions, drinkers do become dancers from time to time.
Total Cost: $29 for a burger and beer at Fanelli, plus drinks at Botanica.

Full Circle Bar
THURSDAY - DINNER AT THE COMMODORE AND FREE SKEE-BALL AT FULL CIRCLE BAR (WILLIAMSBURG)
For dinner, feast on fried chicken at The Commodore, which serves some of the borough's best bird. $12 will get you a plate of three pieces and a biscuit, served with honey butter and hot sauce. A classic cocktail will run you between $6 and $9.
Following your fried chicken dinner, stop by Full Circle Bar, a low key dive serving 40 varieties of canned beer and drafts from a short, but sufficient, tap list. Full Circle Bar also features free skee-ball on four lanes all night long on Thursdays and Sundays.

JIM ISERMANN, TV LOUNGE, 1988, AT THE MUSEUM OF THE MOVING IMAGE
FRIDAY: FREE ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM OF THE MOVING IMAGE AND BYOB DINNER AT QUEENS COMFORT (ASTORIA)
The Museum of the Moving Image is a beautifully designed space featuring an excellent assemblage of memorabilia, including historical film and audio apparatus, costumes, make up and special effects artifacts, plus a sizable collection of Star Wars and Star Trek merchandise. The museum also houses two state of the art theaters that screen a diverse selection of films, from silent movies accompanied by live music to new international releases. On Fridays, the normally pricey entry fee is waived from 4:00-8:00pm.
After the museum, head north to Queens Comfort, where vintage adolescent bric-à-brac can be found on every surface not dedicated to drinking and dining. Figurines and collectibles hang from a chandelier and strings of holiday lights, an Elvis lamp abuts a stuffed chicken in the front window, and an entire corner of the restaurant is dedicated to comic books, which are also available for purchase. The menu is heavy on sandwiches and the alcohol policy is "bring your own." Cash only.

Hope & Anchor
SATURDAY - BURGERS AND DRAG QUEEN KARAOKE AT HOPE & ANCHOR (RED HOOK)
Recently a runner up for Brooklyn's best burger, Hope & Anchor boasts an extensive menu of very good patties, including several vegetarian options, most of which are just $10 and come with fries or mixed greens. Beginning at 9:00pm every Friday night, drag queen Dropsy Desmund hosts free karaoke until 1:30am.
