Wednesday: Applewood (CLOSED)

UPDATE: THIS RESTAURANT HAS CLOSED

Applewood is a comfy, candlelit restaurant you might expect to find down the road from one of the many farms where the kitchen sources its fare. Ahead of the farm-to-table curve when it opened in 2004, Applewood continues to emphasize seasonal and sustainable food by offering a three course dinner "tasting", complete with bread service, amuse and post meal petits fours, Monday-Thursday, in addition to the regular à la carte menu.

You can supplement your meal with wine pairings ($16) or beer pairings ($12). Because the tasting changes frequently, the dishes don't always hit the mark. But, at $30 before tax and tip, Applewood's prix fixe is often a satisfying and affordable way to enjoy a leisurely dinner.

ESSENTIAL INFO:

-Total Cost: About $60 for the prix fixe dinner and wine pairing. Tax and tip included.
